What happens here

Understand that eggs naturally have a protective outer layer called a 'bloom'. This bloom acts as a barrier, preventing bacteria from entering the egg's interior. However, bacteria (such as Salmonella and E. coli) sits on the outside of this bloom. While the bloom protects the inside, it means the exterior surface is contaminated.
