hey guys it's Josh Tony rich farmer I'm just walking down here to the honeybees today thanks for watching I want to talk to you a little bit about what's going on on the farm the next few weeks we've got the tree cutting folks coming to cut probably 80 acres of trees and this is to take back old overgrown fields overgrown fields that just weren't tended and they grew up in little pine trees so we want to get rid of that and get those fields back opened up so we can put livestock on them and use them for hay my dog loves foot wrestling it's a honeybees are not really out to much today but you'll see one or two come out of here there's a honey bee so it's about 55 degrees or so I think we've lost one bee hive so let's go check that out first it open and see well I thought that I lost them but if you can hear that but there's bees in there so I thought I'd lost a beehive this year to the cold weather we had a cold snap where the weather dropped down to zero or less degrees I my neighbor said it was negative three checking my bees to see if maybe I had lost a beehive but not so much that's kind of good so I'll show you the force that I'm talking about I'm walking through here check it out you look all around me what you're seeing is pine trees that are just not successful if you look there are trees that have fallen her down trees everywhere kind of check it out right there all around me there are downed trees and what this is is like a domino effect that happens on the farm here when the trees are so close together and they start falling they just start taking each other out so we need to harvest these trees and get a little bit of money for it we're gonna buy another piece of equipment for the farm and we're gonna replant some areas also going to build a pond and we're going to take some fields back so this area behind me will be a field and possibly we will go ahead and put in a barn right here - we want a barn kind of close to the driveway so I get a lot of flack from people about cutting trees you know a lot of folks just think that every tree should be left alone in every forest and just let nature take its course I understand that a person who owns land is going to properly manage their forest because it just makes sense it just costs too much to not do that why not cut trees you know why is Josh cutting his trees then you need to think to yourself that these are my trees and I'm going to cut them because I want to so there's nothing you can do merkon alright so once again this is Josh Stoney Ridge farmer thanks for watching just checking out the bees there see if they were living and show you a little bit in the woods what's going on probably in two weeks they'll be out here cutting trees and we'll get some awesome video footage of that and we'll actually talk to you a little bit about forestry too so thanks for watching don't forget to subscribe to the channel we'll talk to you soon bring-bring [Music] here in sweet that's way supposed to be stone Tyrion [Music]
