(18,942 characters)NATDA is the Super Bowl of trailer shows. In the spotlight among all the manufacturers and dealers gathered here is Diamond C, which usually presents its main innovations, which have been kept secret for a year, at this exhibition. But this time they were preparing something special, something they had been working on for three years in a row. So, the main question is: what have they been developing for these 3 years? Today we will figure this out. Well , guys. We're at the Diamond C booth, Jacob and I, and this is something completely new. That's right. You really developed this in secret. And so it was. No one knew about this for a long time. We've been developing this for probably three years. I didn't even know about it. Yes. This is, damn it, really cool. I know more secrets in this industry than anyone else. And it's simply amazing. Tell me about it and show me. Let's press this button. Let's show the guys. You've definitely seen the trash container business. It grew exponentially, especially after COVID, you know, it created a kind of vacuum. Many people have started their own businesses in this field. We've been asked to make a garbage truck for ten years, but we couldn't—we were busy with other projects that you've already seen on the channel. But at the same time, we didn't really like the designs on the market, especially the winch systems. So we said we would do it, but we wanted it to be different. Not just safer, but one that provides a better experience, truly commercial- grade. So we analyzed the industrial waste market and saw that large companies are dominated by the hook lifting mechanism, which has its advantages. This allows you to more accurately position the container on the driveway, instead of simply dropping it and pulling the trailer out from under it. And it's much more reliable. This is a stronger construction. Again , this is a more industrial solution. Show us how it works so the boys can see. Do you have the remote control here? Yes, we have wireless control . This is still a prototype. It hasn't been released yet. So we had to make it work. I had to put stickers on top . That's why he looks like that. It is now in tilt mode and is lowering the container. You can imagine how the lever continues to move, puts the container on the ground, and you drive out from under it. We can do everything in reverse. The kit also includes a wired remote control. So, if you don't have wireless, although it's certainly much easier with it. This remote controls the container, hydraulic jacks, work lights and awning. It's convenient when everything is in one place. Does anyone else have a hooklift system like this for a gooseneck trailer ? Yes. What is dragging behind the truck? Yes, we definitely don't claim to be the first to do this. We will be one of the first among the major brands. Think of the leading names in the trailer manufacturing industry . We will be one of the first among them with a hook loader trailer . There are some small niche manufacturers that create something similar, but we did it our own way. We added our signature features, like the engineered beam technology you mentioned. We use a 24- volt lithium system. We did a lot of things our own way, so to speak. Is that done yet, Jacob? No, it's still a prototype . We expect to open orders in the first quarter of next year. You can easily deploy the awning, and we also have...Work lights here. Which can also be controlled from the remote control. Let's take a quick look in the box. This is a specially designed pump so as not to use a gasoline engine. This is a 24-volt system with high performance for speed. We installed dual 24 and 12 volt lithium batteries, added a 25 amp charger, and a convenient tray for tools or belts. Standard hydraulic jacks make the job much easier. We wouldn't even use regular jacks on a trailer like this, you know, of this scale. Is that all about this trailer, Jacob? Yes, I want to note that an improved braking system is installed here, that is, the new ABS, which we showed last year, is also standard here. So when you drive frequently on the roads and deliver containers every day, you have a much safer product for such runs thanks to ABS. Yes, definitely. Undoubtedly. I believe ABS should be on every trailer, but now you have other trailers with other innovations. Certainly. So, let's go see what else you have. Of course. This is one of our flagship models of the last decade. It's called HDT, and by the way, you have the same one . You have an orange one, the same one that was brought to you. M-hm. So, this is exactly the model. She received many subtle changes. A few years ago we implemented an upgrade for our ramp trailer similar to this one. It has a new 12- gauge wing, smooth, which gives it a more European look. We added tubular coils in the rack pockets and a crash bar for chain attachment. So, as I said, there are a lot of subtleties. The drawbar has probably undergone the biggest updates. This is our newest HDV drawbar cover design. The lid is curved downwards, not upwards. In your model, the cover is curved upwards, making it more vulnerable to water, dirt, and debris. And this solution closes the hole and gives a little more space inside the box. In addition, rain and moisture are now drained outside, outside the box, behind the lid. Small improvements. Yes, many small changes. Yes. Here's what we added. The next steps are the same as in most of our other models. There's an " Easter egg" here, what do you call it? Just a lot of beautiful design elements. M-hm. That's it. Now let's get back to the dump trailer . I really like how you covered it. Very cool. Yes, that's true. So, if you talk about it for a minute, it says on the side : "Respect work, respect service." Our theme this year is "Respect Work, Respect Service." The 250th anniversary of the United States, the labor that built it, and the service that protects it. So, you can feel that American spirit all over the stand, right? Mhm. To support outreach efforts, we have launched a fundraising campaign with other manufacturers, suppliers, and industry partners to join forces to help Stop Soldier Suicide, an organization that raises awareness about the disproportionately high suicide rate among veterans. Our goal is $50,000, and we're already about halfway there . This is really cool. It will all wrap up on November 7th in Mount Pleasant, where we are based. We're having a softball tournament there . Manufacturers and suppliers are invited. It will be very interesting, and all for a great cause. We even have a representative from Stop Soldier Suicide at our booth, talking about their mission and activities. He is a veteran himself. This is very cool. That's what inspired the creation of all this theme that you see. Okay, so what's new in this dump trailer ? This is our LPT. Similar to that HDT we were talking about. This is our flagship dump trailer, which we have been producing for many years. You mentioned him before. We have made many updates. New five-stage cylinder. It is not new to the market, but we replaced the three-speed with a five-speed. The old one was much taller, so now it does n't stick out over the top. It has a lower profile and actually provides a lifting capacity of 15 tons compared to 12 before. Not that we really need it, but more is always better. More is better. That's right. So, we did it. Additionally, 7 gauge thick flooring is now standard. The walls are 10 caliber, whereas before everything was 10, and to get 7, the entire building had to be modernized. Now 7 gauge on the floor is the standard, because we know it gets the most wear and tear. What about the rest? Retained many design elements, such as the four-inch top rail. We made the board brackets standard: we raised the front and added a bracket to increase the volume, and also what I call " cheap insurance" when you insert the board. I'd rather hit the board than damage the powder coating, right? So, this is now the standard. We updated the wings and steps. Just more aesthetics, like we talked about HCT. One of the things I'm most proud of is the actual design of the folding support. Folding supports have been around for a long time. Most of them are clunky, with a latch or pin that needs to be constantly inserted. Aha. We integrated the same technology that is forever used in 10-12 thousand pound jacks, where everything is held by a spring. And now you can just Oh, it's like your uh Your jack shoe. Yes. Aha. This makes security much easier , right? This is the main advantage. So this will be very important. We also changed the door hinges at the back. In this industry, the standard for almost every dump trailer manufacturer is a two- inch hitch. As you can see, this one is noticeably larger. Right. Because constantly, hundreds of times a year, people open doors, don't lock them properly, tip over the body, doors hit the ground, and hinges bend. So we decided we wanted to be able to lift the trailer by these hinges to make sure they didn't bend. They are extremely durable, so they will last a very long time. Show me the latch, okay? Yes. This is a much better system than the one on some of my trailers. There is a spring inside here, and it is a time-tested design. We implemented it a couple of years ago on the doors of trailers with an upper platform placement. You didn't talk about this a couple of years ago. So today we'll show you everything. One of the things Jacob is quick to point out is a solid sheet of metal, bent upwards for strength. I have already shown this design on other trailers and have seen what is lacking in other similar solutions . We said this sheet is 7 gauge thick, and here is the fly rod. Mhm. Where it overlaps and is boiled from below and above. Aha. And, as you noted, it's all one solid piece, so there are no seams in the corners. Right. This avoids seams at the corners. You get a much stronger floor structure. Very cool. Is that all there is to it , Jacob? That's all about it. So, can we see the side door design on this model? Good. So, now we've already dropped them, right? This is the position for side loading of pallets or long material. Now it is fixed. The most interesting thing here is that we solved the problem: previously, these doors were very heavy, wobbly, inconvenient, almost a job for two. And thanks to the gas struts at the front and rear, it's no harder to move them than with a tailgate. And you have one handle in the center. This is a spring-loaded design. I can let her go right here and it's safe. She won't harm you. It is very easy to use. One person can handle this. And this can be done on both sides. Yes. So, you have full axes. You have a dump trailer that also doubles as a platform. Yes. It is very versatile. It converts into a trailer with a platform above the wheels. You can transport materials. You know, people who buy these trailers are just delighted with them. Not as big in volume as LBT, it's a niche product, but people love it. You know, they love him. They adore him. It. Those who know will understand. Yes. Okay, I'll chime in because if you're not familiar with a flatbed trailer , as someone who has owned one, lived with it, worked with it, and tried to make a living using it, I'll break down the pros and cons. This design you see on Jacob is the best possible. This is the best configuration for this type of trailer. My trailer was designed specifically for machinery, meaning it had a higher center of gravity, but it also gave more space on the platform so you used 100% of the area above the axles. Every bit of this space could be used to transport equipment, pallets, or materials. But what he created is the ability to convert the same trailer that holds full-size pallets and everything else , just by lifting two sides, and now you have a dump truck. In my opinion, this is a real genius. If you are looking for a flatbed trailer, if I were to buy one again, I would choose this model because it offers much more versatility than a regular equipment trailer. So, let's continue and see what else he has new, because the exhibition is not over yet. Is that all, Jacob? another. Good. So, next we look at our F Max 212 , another flagship model, to which we have made significant improvements in the design. The first thing we pay attention to is the crash bar. Everyone in the industry has been using seven-gauge steel rack pockets with a small piece of pipe inside for 40 years. We even still see it on some of our other models. But we removed the industry-standard pockets from this bar, increased the material thickness and the width or height of the bar itself, thereby increasing versatility and durability. This gives you more options for securing your cargo. You see this replaces your chain drum. So, you have a hook. You can move it back. Lower down. Diagonally, upwards. Turn back. You can change its position. Pull straight. You can use a variety of ways to attach hooks. Another cool feature: you can't fit a 4- inch belt into traditional pockets. And these pockets replace traditional ones, and the 4-inch belt hook fits perfectly here. And thanks to the 3-inch wider surface, the hook holds much better. If you've seen them try to fasten a 2-inch strap, it warps and looks like it's about to come off. Exactly. because it pulls upwards. Therefore, with a 3-inch surface, it holds much more securely. Even larger hooks can be placed here. Yes, these 3/8 and 1/2 inch hooks easily pass between the rails. You had problems with the wire hooks on the 2-inch straps not going through the rail, but these do. This solution also has higher resistance to deformation of the sides from impacts, since the elements are located at a close distance from each other. By the way, this is a patented design for which an application has been filed. Oh, very cool. Super cool. Another important point: there are guys who transport, say, one skid steer loader in the same place on a trailer every day, they chain it in the same place every day, and that starts to tear out the tie-down eyes, because the traditional ones are only seven gauges thick. It's all made of quarter-inch material, it won't break even after many years. It will stay in place and withstand the load. Is this only available on this specific trailer model or will it be available on your other trailers as well? Eventually, it will. We will start implementing this first on the F-Maxx series . So, in the first quarter, we'll launch this on the F-Maxx and then start rolling out to other models. Have we discussed everything that's on your stand this year? Oh, I... Yes, now I have a surprise. But wait, that's not all. So, this is my pride and joy. This...this is not a trailer. Of course. So consider the Ford Pass app. Think of the apps from truck manufacturers that you download when you buy a truck. Yes. The Diamond C app is coming out this fall, and it's an app where when you buy a trailer, you can take your phone, scan the VIN, and it will automatically load your model and color, and then you can add multiple trailers to one app. So if you have two Diamond C trailers, let's say you bought them new, you can add them to the app, and the cool thing is, you can track them. Each one will have a GPS feature, and you see this LPT showing where it is, and it is actually under guard. It has a security feature with which you can arm it. It is now under guard, and a virtual perimeter , a geofence, has been set up around it. Now, if, say, you leave your trailer at a job site, you set up a geofence , and if it goes outside of that boundary, you get a notification saying, "Hey, your trailer has gone outside of its boundary." This actually reports... Can it be tracked from there? Certainly. You can see where it is. So... I've had more than one trailer stolen. So I go back in, disarm it , and now the zone is gone. So, now that I've taken down the guard, I can take him away. Currently, this is the number of trailers displayed in this application. I see that two of my five or seven trailers are locked and guarded at the site. That's it. And then we, we released ABS last year. And so, it actually has built-in ABS integration, too. So you can drive, you can see your mileage, you can connect to your trailer to see if there are any problems. There's a dashboard there for your...Let's see, it's loading. Yes, this will be a fully functional OEM application for your trailer. This will be very cool. And now on your website you have the opportunity to assemble a trailer the way the customer wants, to customize it for them. So let's go to diamondc.com, shall we? Certainly. Yes, go to diamondc, and any trailer has a "create your own" feature. You click that, and then you can choose the length, the color, you know, depending on what axles, what gross weight you need, and all that cool stuff. You will be able to go to. And then you can order it through your local dealer. So now this shows you how many miles this trailer has traveled . So it has an odometer, which is very important for maintenance, right? You can create maintenance records, and now you can also manage sway control and dynamic brake assist from here. Wow. Very cool. Is it out yet? So, it's coming out this year. So it will be out and in production probably towards the end of this year. So, you also have the opportunity to find new available stocks near you. All sorts of cool stuff right in the app. It will be in any Android or Apple store. Very cool. Have we covered everything, Jake? Yes. Good. Friends, this is all new from Diamond C, their top secret innovations and things they've been keeping secret in development for over a year. over 3 years in development. With the first trailer we looked at, plus I didn't know about this launch. This is what comes out of that, okay. And you guys are the first to see it right here. That's right. Yes. Everything should be released in the first quarter. So, everything I mentioned earlier and everything else you saw should be available in the first quarter of 2027. Good. Thank you, sir.
