Designer Walls! METALLIC SUEDE Bathroom

This Chris, you had a whole painter here on Paint Life TV. Today, I'm hanging out in a bathroom with Dream and John. Where else would you want to be? Well, other than this bathroom together, this little tiny one. But today, we've got a metallic, this is a third metallic finish we're going to be doing. And we've done a couple others, a metallic grit, and then just a straight metallic aluminum coating. And now we're going to be doing the metallic sway, right? It is. It's very smooth and soft, and it feels really nice. Which, what other kind of coating would you want in a bathroom, but one that you just want to touch? Absolutely. All the time. All the time. So, anyways, you know, hey, stay tuned for this video. I like the Captain Morgan stance on the toilet. Alright, so, John, we've already got the base coat on. This was base coated with what? This was base coated with a color called sea salt. Again, it was what we used as duration home in the matte finish. You want to go with a sheen finish that is a matte or an egg shell. If you go to the flat, it's going to use up more of the product than you probably want to. If you go with like a semi-gloss, then you're going to get a lot of smearing and product moving around in an inconsistent finish. We've got a base coated, and now we're going to start the metallic finish process. So, we're going to get everything set up in here and get going. And we're going to walk you through the process of how to make this bathroom look really cool. We're going to be applying it on two really thin coats, and so thin to win when it comes to metallic suede. I'm going to be rolling it on and we're using a six inch microfiber roller and microfiber. If you are want to know why not just use say like a white woven or something like that. The microfiber helps you manipulate the product a lot better. So, you want a microfiber roller and I'm just going to be rolling it on in sections. And then I'll just be trailing it randomly. I'll roll it randomly, trail it randomly, and I'll just be working as I go. One of the great things about the metallic suede is you can stop in the middle of a wall and then come back the next day and do it. Some of the other finishes like the aluminum, metallic aluminum, you cannot stop. You got to complete your entire wall or whatever you're doing. You can't just stop in the middle, but this stuff is pretty easy to use. I'm going to start rolling here and you can see how I go about doing it. Just random roll, working in sections, and then back trailing it random, back trailing it. I got a bow arrow flexed trow right here. So, these are specific trowels used for applying and creating specific effects with these bow arrow coatings. And once again, this is a metallic suede coating. So, I'm going to get going, get rolling. Here you can see it. What it looks like here, it's a really, really thick product. And it goes a long ways because you apply it really, really thin. So, I got to gallon this entire powder room right here. Gallon is going to be plenty. This is our second coat. And the first coat looked pretty dig-amazing. And I don't know, you could, is it do it yourself or you could even get away with just doing one coat. But I think it's definitely best to do too. So, what's nice about having two people now? I don't have to hold the trowel and the roll on my hands so I can hold the pan. Of course, it'll go a lot faster with two people. Alright, there you have it. We're all done. And I think this is probably another maybe one to two to three hour project. You know, it's easy, easy. Yeah, so John, you got a painting company. How would you do charge for something like this? I would say this would be probably tacking on another $750 to the bathroom that we're already painting. And what, 20 minutes per coat? Yeah. Maybe an hour per coat if you're really generous. Yeah, it was pretty fast, pretty fast, easy to do. It's an amazing look. I think of all the bowlerial coatings there are. This is my favorite. And it looks really, really good. And it's very simple, easy to do. Two thin coats happens really fast. Could it do it yourself or do it? Absolutely. You can do you. He said that with confidence. So I believe you can do it. So there you have it. This is one of the other videos that we have doing metallic coatings. We did an aluminum finish, metallic grit finish, and we're even going to do more.
