What happens here

To protect the newly planted garden from deer, install a simple electric fence. The creator uses white polybraid fencing and pigtail posts. Start by pushing or stepping the pigtail posts into the ground around the perimeter of the garden beds. Space the posts approximately 16 to 32 inches apart, depending on the desired tension and the terrain. Thread two lines of polybraid through the loops of the posts, creating a two-dimensional barrier. If the polybraid sags, simply wrap it around a post a couple of times to tighten it. The fence is energized by a Zareba brand solar fence charger, which is connected to a ground post. This simple setup relies on deer's poor depth perception; they are deterred by the visual barrier and a mild static shock upon contact.

Goal: Install an effective and simple electric fence to keep deer out of the garden.
