What happens here

This project details the comprehensive process of clearing a plot of land, including tree removal, demolition of a concrete retaining wall, stump removal, and preparation for regrading. It emphasizes safety, efficient use of heavy machinery like skid steers with specialized attachments, and proper waste management by sorting brush and logs for transport.

good morning you guys we got a pretty big one today we've got a whole roll of trees that we've got to take down [Applause] we've got a retaining wall that needs to be excavated and hauled off site and then right behind me as a building pad there used to be a building here for about two hundred years and it's hyper compacted we've got to loosen all this up and then regrade this and turn this back into a yard we've got to contour it shape it scarify it and get it ready for seat so what do we wait for it let's just do this thing first thing we're gonna start with is removing trees that is if we can get the chainsaw to start so while alex is working at firing up the echo chains on the battery power one just to get a jumpstart on things so I'm gonna take down the first few the I guess the normal way is not normal to me to be totally honest with ya and then I'm gonna switch over to the way that's more comfortable for me [Applause] [Music] with the trees going down that means we get to start playing with big equipment and the beat is the first up to that this is actually demolition grapple designed to break up concrete it's got a heavy-duty set of bottom times that actually have a slight weird bend to him and then it's got that weird grabber mouth on the top [Music] listen to my heart this intention [Music] waiting for you [Music] so while we're clearing up we sort the brush from the heavier stuff and we'll show you why in just a moment yes question it I want to see Alex you think we can push that one over Tim you think we can push it over it's pretty rotten here so there's a chance which you've got to be real careful that when you're pushing it that that limb doesn't snap on you and fall on you so I don't really like it she did she rotten let's see if we can just give her a little push e push to get federal gold the right way if not we got FOP US right falling object protection system and what is what's FOP us what the heck is that crap I don't know we never use safety gear I cut trees and shorts so this is actually a really dangerous move although it looks simple and there's more often because of the tree snaps on the bottom it has a really good chance of kicking back right into the cab of the skid loader so as I'm pushing forward I'm being conscious of watching that tree snap and ready to move back so as soon as it gets the slightest indication that it's gonna go you'll see me move back but then when I know it's going you'll see me move back and boom down to protect myself just in case it snaps back [Music] before the boys start living I want to get it down on the ground and as safe as possible [Music] I'm feelin me feelin me [Music] I am feeling Mina sleeping tonight I'm gonna hit my sales vibe [Music] and Sunday service in the worried let me see so anybody did you like so this one is going this way but we need it to go this way so my thought is notch it give it a push e push down into the low spot what do you want to do what do they'll do your plan if you don't want to do mine [Music] if it does snap backwards gonna want to go down under the cab yeah one two three not it for the skid loader I'll notch it and push it over I don't care on a Friday you're in the ASB out twice I didn't check because I was they only run it for a couple hours and figured we're only running it sure enough it flashes the code fuel rail little pressure I get on the phone with baka mug bucks flashing a funky cold you know one of the first indicators of you you'll may be running out like that's your normal activity anyway oh you're married with four kids we know what you do on a Friday night I don't even want to notch it first let's just give a little experimental push and see how loose she is so as I'm pushing up a lot watching the lower part of the tree to make sure that that doesn't snap and jab right into the cab and I notice that the whole root ball is tipping over which is good because we need to take the roots out as well and then stuff has to be removed so I go for it [Music] we build up a stockpile of trees so that we can call in the dump truck and start putting on loan after all one thing about loading dump trucks you down to be farm sure you have but always protect the cab never load over the cab never make sure nothing if you're gonna hang something over make sure it's hanging up steal the cab you'll crush you never any dirt never anything foes swings over the Cowboys hit me over the back when we're taking out a bunch of trees like this we always load the brush in the bottom of the truck and then save the bigger logs for the top that's why we separate them because that way whatever brush we have in the truck we don't have to worry about tarping and if we've got enough heavy logs on top of it to hold it down another thing we've got to be careful of is we want to make sure that the load slides out and even a branch like this big one here can bind up the load and you keep that from sliding out so we need oddball pieces like this and have to be cut and removed and laid as neatly as possible in that box so we don't normally sit up in the box just watching it get loaded but with this being the first time that alex has ever loaded a dump truck it helps for us to spot to help give him a sense of direction so he knows how he's doing as we work our way through the site we alternate between cutting and clearing out trees and brush and taking out the brick concrete retaining wall the first few loads of concrete coming out are dirty and wasteful what that means is we've got too much dirt mixed in with the concrete and that's got to change so Tim Flynn and running a stump rubber for the skid loader they said let's just give the beat to try it's got the massive jaws it's time let's see if it could pop out stuff before we read it one so you'll see him shaking that stump off that's because we've got to get all of the dirt off the place we take the stumps in a wood doesn't accept dirt so those stumps have to be cleaned when we can take but not all of the stuff come out as nice as that first one so Tim works his way around the stump trying to break the support please it has what we call feeder roots and support roots support roots are these giant strong roots that hold the tree in place while the feeder roots are the ones that give it all its nutrients and water we've got a take down beak to break through those supporters but we've got a wall in the way and that has to be taken care of before we can pop the stuff all right you guys this is where we're gonna leave it for today the next video we're gonna be tearing out the rest of this retaining wall and then we're gonna start focusing on the grading but we have a few unexpected surprises come up that we were not anticipating and we'll show you what those are on the next video god bless you guys go get them and hopefully we will see you on the next one
