Execute Face Cut

What happens here

The person, wearing safety gear including a helmet with earmuffs and a face shield, and chaps, uses a chainsaw to make the face cut (also known as a notch or hinge cut) on the tree. This cut is made on the side towards which the tree is intended to fall. He makes an initial downward angled cut, followed by a horizontal cut to remove a wedge of wood.
