(15,499 characters)What's up, brother? Day two? Day two. Yep. Day two. What do you think? How's it going? I just found out you're his uncle. Yeah? Yeah. Ali Al. Yeah. Yeah. Crushing it here. Crushing it here. Another brother? Yeah. Yep. The whole family's working here. I just told him my family tried working together. Yeah, it didn't work out too good. We all We all want our own way and it just it didn't work out. So, How you like How you like uh working with us? Day two. It's good so far? Yeah. So far it's okay. We'll see. So far this is working out awesome. Um really speeding things up for us so we can focus on this. Otherwise, we would have had another probably four days on the patio. Um and now we can finish this up and hopefully be done by the end of the week. Looks good. So, I guess one of the next things you guys are doing is probably cutting these. Yeah. Okay. And that'll just be the same measurement from here to here. Same width of that cut. Yeah. So, I think it's uh what, 62 or something? Yeah, same thing here. You guys got it. You know what's going on. These guys know. Well, you hopefully you're hungry >> juice every every morning. Yep. >> Two eggs. But it's not cooking. Wait, you just put the juice >> Just put the juice. Put the eggs in the juice? So, I I drink every day. We're working with Apollo Creed. Jose, maybe that's why your stomach's always hurting. You're eating raw eggs. That's why no more. Your stomach don't hurt no more? No more beer, yeah. Beer and Yeah. Jose's always got a tummy ache. He just told me he's eating raw eggs every morning with his juice. You got to cook them. Just like this. I'm going to get started on this privacy wall thing. We've We've essentially got two of them. I've got one going here in the small section and one going in this big section. I'm going to start with the small one. Just kind of get the process down. We're using the modern mill material. You'll see it come together. It's It's going to be It's going to be a learning experience here. But, it's going to be pretty cool. So, I'm going to start with this. See how it goes. See if I need to change the game plan for this bigger section, but I'm going to get started on that now and see it take shape. I'm going to cut these all dead on at 62 in. So, what I like to do is get a nice set up with the chop saw and set up a stop block so all of them are exactly the same. In all, I think I need 49 + 13 Whatever that is. No, 62. I need six Oh, 62 of them at 62 in. All right. I got the pieces here. I got them all cut to size. I got the edges sanded down nicely. And I need you to uh You look like you're in a witness protection program or something. What are you doing? It's cold. It got cold again. I'm freezing. All right, we need to stain these. Check out this rendering. This is sort of pretty close to what we're doing. Remember how Steve told you not to hold the camera at that angle? I'll hold it like this. >> your nose. No, that's better. Oh, really? So, check out the rendering. This is This is pretty close to what it's going to be. I've made a couple modifications and one of them is the majority of the uprights are going to be black and the intermediate parts are going to be natural. So, got all these cut down and we need to stain these, but what I want to do is the small one, I want to build that first. So, you know how we're having like a 3-in gap on the bottom and the top, I want to potentially have the two ends go all the way to the deck and to the beams. So, that will support it in in and of itself. You know what I mean? Does that make sense? Can I suggest something wild? Yeah. Why don't we build them on the ground as if we're going to do the individual panels, Yeah. >> which I think is a good idea and I do think that we should do that. Um do that on the ground so then the pattern like continues. It'll be easier to see them if you're seeing them all as one unit and then you just put one of the panels over there. You know what I mean? Okay. Cuz you're saying put that one up, but I I think that if we build all of them Okay. >> on the ground, then you can kind of create that same pattern that you like and it's just going to look like a continuation of the pattern if we do it all at once. Right, right, right. Okay. See what I'm saying? Yeah. All right. Like as Like that'll be like instead of one giant one, it'll be like three three little bit bigger ones or three three small ones. >> if we do separate them, is that going to mess anything up with the railing? Like would we need like for code to have railing >> No, it just it has to be less than I mean, we're low enough here where we don't even necessarily technically need a railing, but we'll make it so that the gap is like 3 in. All right, come on. Get to work. What the freak, man? I'm locked in. You like what good is this door? Next couple of days. At least you're locked in. That's what I was coming to check on, like, you know, how often you were Seems like you're kind of letting your guard down. Cuz that was a good scare. That was pretty good, yeah. Anyway, so what do you got? Uh >> We got 3 days left to do this. Wednesday morning. Yep, I'm finishing up the cuts for this privacy wall detail. We've got everything figured out. We've got a bunch of pieces to stain, but I'm getting everything pre-cut so that we can just assemble it. The whole bunch should look really cool. If it doesn't, that's going to be really bad. Number two, it should go together as planned. Yeah, we got a little wiggle room on, but I think the idea is good. I'm almost done. Getting everything prepped. I got people jumping out at me. I got I got adversity at every turn, but I'm locked in. So, uh this thing is going to be it's not just going to be a an accent wall, it's going to be an art installation. I think. You going to get out here and stain it all? We got a lot to do. >> Yeah, so come on, get to work. >> really focused on the privacy wall, but we got the subs on the patio and they're doing a great job. So, that's that's really taken care of, but we still got the wall. >> out the pattern. >> We got the posts. We got the clean up. We got the We got the sod. We got all this stuff to do. >> You're talking over me. Well, I was actually talking so he he What do you want to say? Make her energy. My face is closer, so Yeah, no, they're doing a great job. I'm getting back to work. Anyway, it's Wednesday morning. We have two day or two and a half days to get this done. Sean. What? Is gone. I got to get Great attitude. Great attitude. How about your attitude? I got to get to work. I got to get to work. See our true colors. And inside you're ugly. Ugly like me. What kind of finish are you going on with that? You got to What kind of finish? What what yeah, what what what what are you Uh, so what I'm doing what I what I was doing is uh, priming one side. I learned that strategy from you yesterday. Exactly what I did. You told me I was doing it wrong. I didn't say you were doing it wrong. I just said you know, with all of us there's always room for improvement. Even me. You're going to put it together in the air. You're not going to like put it together on the deck and then install it. >> No, I'm going to put it together on the deck. But I'll I'll I'll do I'll do like this first one. I'll see what I like. I'll install it. Then once that's installed, I'll start laying out the next one. The next one will be laying out on the deck looking at the one that's already installed, looking at the layout of this one, and then say, "Okay, I like that." Install it. Move to the next one. Start laying it out. Look at the two on the wall now. Look at this. Install it. All right. So, we definitely need these last pieces stained. This pile right here. Yes, sir. ASAP. Yes, sir. All right. I'll get on that. Thanks, sir. >> So this is kind of the idea. Just kind of laying them out. We're going to have the uh 5/4 by 4 on edge. What I've done is ripped down this 5/4 uh to inch and a half for these slats in between. So I'll have the black uprights 5/4 by 4, give it some dimension, and then I've laid out these natural pieces. We are going to set them so they're kind of in the middle of uh the board. Right now they're just sitting on the deck, but they'll be kind of um in between, so it'll give like this really cool texture. I'm kind of thinking if we do those intermediate pieces at like two different depths, it's going to add even another element of texture. So I'm kind of thinking that through right now, but I think that'd be a good idea. So TBD. Save our date night tonight. Costco. Costco. What are you and the missus going to get? If there's a couch, can you let me know? If there's like a good couch? Uh weren't you looking at that one yesterday? Well yeah, but I don't know if that's at the Costco. I always see these things that are like, "Go to Costco. They're you know." And then it's not at like the Costco. >> It's not, yeah. Yeah. All right, so give us a give us a play-by-play. Where are you starting out? You starting at Costco or you starting at dinner? We're starting at dinner. We've got a babysitter tonight and we're going to uh a chain restaurant. Is it a chain? I think there's a couple of them. I think there's a couple of them. >> Going to Tommy's Tavern, and then then we're going to Costco. It's all in the same parking lot. I am really excited about it. We were supposed to I think this might be our third attempt at this date night. You got any wish list wish list items? No. No. No. I I never go in there with expectations. I just I just see what they got, and you know? And never go in with a budget. That's my best advice for Costco. Spend what Costco tells you to spend. >> Exactly. Costco knows what's best for you. All right. Now we're on to some of the really cool finishing details on this. One of them being this bar top. It's going to be a little bit different than any bar top we've done before. We did a little bit on the front porch, where we pocket screwed the boards together, folded them as one unit. But we're kind of taking it a little step further. What we've got is I've got these brackets, counter top brackets, and what I want to do is have these so they are completely hidden. And I'm actually just realizing that I need to make this a little bit bigger. So, what I want is this. I've got a string line set up across here completely completely straight cuz I want this to be dead flat. But, uh I want this to actually be recessed into the countertop. So, I'm actually going to have to increase this the width of this material here. So, good thing I caught that. But, we're going to do these every 2 ft so there will be uh five of these going in. I'm going to get these set and then fold the board, uh fold the top, recess, uh route out the bottom of that so that sits totally flat and it's going to look really smooth. And then we have a really cool surprise, cool feature that's going to be built into it. So, stay tuned for that. Watch me uh get this thing prepped and I'll show you how we fold it and all that good stuff. But, this is going to be so sick. Stay tuned. So, I've got this all marked out. Uh putting the pocket screw holes in it now. What, three boards and a pocket screwed together. You're going to route out for all of these so those are tucked inside of the counter. And hopefully I don't mess this up. It's a lot of It's a lot of measuring and making sure that the pocket screws go in the right spot. Otherwise, you've got three 20-ft boards that you just messed up. You've got three boards. People said it couldn't be done, but you know what? I mean, nobody really said that, but you know, they're probably thinking it. Fits in there really nice and beautifully. Made it a little bit wider and a little bit deeper than it needs to be, so got a little bit of wiggle room when we get all these up, so we don't have to mess with it. It'll be nice, but nice consistent route. Should be moving. What did you say? Did you film that? Yeah. My eyes always do something crazy when I Got all five of these routed out and next step, it's time to do the V groove so for the fold. I don't know, I'm like 4 hours in on this top, so I really hope I don't mess this up. It was like glued on there. I probably loosened it up pretty good. All right. You got to get it all the way in? Nope, that was it. Just a tiny bit. It's like a thick boy. Oh. Woohoo. Worked out beautifully. Everything lined up. We just got to take this uh this piece out. This was the idea right here that from here can't see any any of the brackets and all you see is just that 1-in piece of decking. Damn, that looks clean. SHOO. NICE ONE. YEAH, I like it. Pretty good. >> What the wrong with you? >> Oh, hey. All right. Got it installed? It's working beautifully. Straight money. We did the hidden charger before. This one It's mint. It's really mint. All right. I got this contraption happening right now. These are These are like my shelves for over here. I'm going to wait till we got a little bit I'm going to see how that works. I'll show you what I did. It's pretty simple, but I've got it glued and I'm I'm making sure they're all clamped together and they and they cure together. So, right now I'm going to jump on the mantle. Got a 75-in TV going here. I want the mantle to be a little bit wider than that, so we're going to go 6 ft and we're going to miter fold it. We're going to see how this works with the acre material. It's kind of PVC base, so we're using PVC glue on it. But, we got a lot of a lot of miters to rip and cut and all that kind of stuff. So, watch it come together. >> Here's the last step. We've got our our holes drilled out, nice and big. I can glob some glue in there. And boom. Little wiggly, right? Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to fill it up with glue. I want a good amount of adhesive in here. And what I'm going to do is kind of piggyback off of the original idea I had, which was drive some screws through the back of this into here just temporarily. Just to hold it plumb while that glue sets, and we'll be good. But already looks pretty dang nice. So, got them all set, level, all that good stuff. Just make sure that glue doesn't seep out. That's the last thing I want is for that glue to to pop out. So, that's what we got. Oh, yeah, I can feel it. Feel it around the the heads of those screws. We got it globbed up nice. Steve, I'm going to need you just hold this right here. You. So, guys, going to pop into that board? Uh yeah, it's pushing pushing uh Pushing it out? A little bit. I mean, it's pushed towards it. There you go. Sucked in pretty good? All right, how's it look, level? All right. >> Oh, yeah. Guys good. Oh, yeah. All right. Now I got uh just a couple more to do. Well, that's almost it for this project. We've got almost the entire thing wrapped up, couple last-minute details to tidy up here, and then we'll be finished. So, you're going to have to wait for the next video to see the final shots of this all cleaned up, little bit of landscaping, some lighting. We'll do a full walk-through of this project cuz it deserves it, and then of course the time lapse. So, make sure you stay tuned for that. Thanks for following along on this project. It's absolutely one of my favorites. But until next time, this has been Premier Outdoor Living.
