What happens here
With the spray gun loaded and the cardboard shield ready, position the straight edge of the cardboard firmly against the adjacent surface you wish to protect. The video shows the painter holding the cardboard vertically against the wall's corner. Hold the cardboard securely with one hand, ensuring there are no gaps where paint mist could escape. With your other hand, hold the spray gun approximately 6 to 12 inches from the wall, keeping it perpendicular to the surface. Begin spraying the wall in smooth, even passes, moving the spray gun parallel to the edge. As you spray each section, move the cardboard shield along the edge, always maintaining a tight seal against the protected surface and allowing the spray fan to slightly extend beyond the edge of the cardboard to create a clean, sharp line. Continue this motion, moving the shield and spraying, until the desired area is covered. The painter demonstrates moving the shield both upwards and downwards along the edge while spraying.
Goal: Effectively spray paint a wall while creating a perfectly straight, clean edge against an unpainted or differently colored surface.
