Concrete footer going down! #construction #diy

What happens here

After the concrete is roughly distributed, the next critical step is screeding, which levels the concrete surface flush with the top of the forms. The video shows two different passes of screeding. Initially, two individuals work together, pulling a straight wooden board (a 'screed board,' often a 2x4) across the forms with a back-and-forth sawing motion to remove excess concrete and fill low spots. Later, a single person performs a final pass, meticulously moving the board along the forms to achieve a very flat and even surface, ensuring the pathway has a smooth and consistent elevation.

Goal: Achieve a level and smooth concrete surface, flush with the forms.

Tools and materials
