Chemical free winter pasture management ideas that work!
What happens here
Before spreading seeds, ensure that any excess seeds from previous use are removed from the spreader. The farmer loads a full bag of Kentucky 32 Fescue seed into the ATV spreader and explains the recommended seeding rate is about a third of a bag per acre. For the three-acre section being worked on, the entire 50 lb bag of fescue will be used. Timothy seed will be spread more sparsely in a subsequent pass. Seeds should always be loaded and opened in the pasture to be seeded, not in driveways, to ensure proper distribution and prevent waste.
Goal: Load grass seeds into the ATV spreader and begin broadcasting them across the pasture.
