Can’t believe what was under this old wood 🤯 #woodworking #diy #homeimprovement
What happens here
The first step involves meticulously removing the old, decaying bark from the piece of wood. Using a woodworking chisel and a rubber mallet, carefully tap and pry off the bark layers. Work along the grain where possible and ensure all loose and flaky bark is detached, exposing the raw wood beneath. The video shows the creator using both hands, one to guide the chisel and the other to strike it with the mallet, then occasionally prying pieces off by hand.
Goal: Clean the wood by removing all loose bark
