i don't know we're talking about cabinets i mean people want to know cabinets well i think just talking about products is a good thing oh you're talking about products you're doing a lot of different products well you talk about anything really so the camera's there your heart desires cameras over here um yeah so um we are live again so um we'll put the camera right over here for us okay what are we like um we're live on youtube we live on youtube we didn't have it so um we didn't announce it we didn't but it's our last chance to go live in 2021 oh that's kind of true um tomorrow's new year's eve so um do you have any plans besides painting now i've been painting for uh i haven't had a day off for i think four or five weeks now um i had one day off christmas yeah i took christmas off yeah so anyways so the store um how's the store going oh there's oh i should look at the feet on my phone because it's too hard my old eyes can't read that far so make sure you look at that camera right there yeah but i want to see the so i wanted to talk about our store paint life supply co so um our online well you said that it's cabinet repainting well it's the that's the topic it's usually that's probably the number one topic right now so i just um put it you know people got i mean you can ask any question you want but a lot of the questions are centered around cabinet painting so lone star acre painting says mozart is probably from texas hey yeah hey chris and wife merry christmas um soon to be happy new year jenny um laura says i think jenny nay remember i re spray cabinets full time that's what pat says um so i'm gonna read the questions but pat tell us what products you use and do you spray on site do you spray take them back to your shop tell us a little bit about what you do we got jimmy um from south houston uh what's up jimmy so jimmy coolman is on so let us talk a little bit about our um paylife supply co and that's our online store we actually have our very own online store and we have our very own retail store also which is paint life supply co in boise and you think he would never run out of um supplies my own stores can't sometimes supply me so um yo who i wanted to talk so you afton and um mckenna run the online store um how's that going it's going good we opened our retail store last year january so it is a good time of year and i kind of we put on their cabinets because that's something that we do in the winter a lot of and you're using new products and stuff so i think it's a good topic but i think it's a good time of the year to reflect and so you know we've been home a lot and when you're not painting and just kind of talking about the goals and you know what we want to be focused on this next year so um you know let us hear from you what are some of your goals you have because it's time to reflect on 2021 and look forward to 2022. so is that online store is that keeping you really busy let me turn this light down just a little don't know if you're able to work i hear you guys are locked down so i'm not sure but we loved our time in australia it was amazing on visit i got to go teach there and they hooked us up with a sweatshirt so that's kind of cool and you're now wearing it and it was a cold snowy day and so it was the right thing um ben primer smells so good um eric says ben is a shellac based primer so it's a really good primer for um painting cabinets if um you get because i had somebody asked just the other day um a couple days ago what primer should they use painting cabinets if they were using pro classic and and then any like i ben is really good um so any type of products from zinzer are amazing um ben is schlack and schlax resolves a lot of contamination issues fish eye issues so it's a good all-around um primer so i have a question for you but you were asking me about the store and we are closing out 2021 and so i think it'd be good to give away a couple coupons or a couple of gift cards to use at our store yeah we typically give out stuff yo every live show and um we'll be um how about we'll give away a couple um gift cards two 50 gift cards 250 gift cards um the last show that we did we did a lot of giveaways and some of the giveaways have not been shipped yet because i haven't received them to ship them so um you know if you haven't received them you can message me and i'll let you know if your stuff has gone out a lot of it has been a lot of it hasn't can we give away some frog tape tonight um you want it maybe one point leap away from one of the blue four packs or whatever we'll give away some um four packs of blue frog tape we can do that all right so house says um atria says with kitchen cabinets or cabinets do you degrease first and what do you use yeah so we always when we're dealing with kitchen cabinets any type of cabinetry um vanities entertainment centers we always wash with dawn dish soap first and so that's the very first step of the process and you want to get that done right away because we're typically priming the cabinets that same day so we want to wash them right away wash with warm water and um then you'll begin to hang if you're going to be hanging them either begin hanging them or stacking them so they can dry off and so and done like i'm a big believer in dawn dish soap we've been using it for over 20 years and um it leaves no no residue behind that's going to cause any type of adhesion um contamination fisheye issues it cuts grease amazing i mean dawn dish soap is used in all these big massive oil spills to rescue so crud cutter is a is a really good product and um so i use crud cutter if there's um really harsh contaminants like on cabinets um around stoves or or on the sinks and stuff like that usually dawn dish soap um that's our go-to but if we have some isolated things we use crud cutter to get off um because we've taken we have a big bucket that's full of the dawn dish some stuff when we um and it's a five gallon um rolling tray so i think you answered that so that's super good this guy wants to know um how long will a quality job last from gregory so i think you're only right yeah so a quality i mean a quality job not done with quality products is not going to last long so it doesn't matter how good the prep work is how you know good the paint job is if you use an inferior product and there's some lacquers out there there's some top coats that don't dry they're not very durable if you use like what we're using now a centurion 2k poly and i catalyze it at 15 you know that stuff is it's scratch resistant mar resistant chemical resistant um extremely uh chip resistance um that that is gonna last you three to five times longer than anything over the counter like it um your local paint stores like um solo and you know cabinet coats and things like that it's um you know so it really just depends on what you're actually using and then it also depends on the prep work now if you're not sanding um getting a mechanical bond your paint could chip easy it could come off so you need to sand in some instances you need to prime and then you need to put on multiple top coats but centurion's going to give you i mean it's it's if they're taken care of they're going to last you as long as the customers need them to last until they want to change the color so um this one guy was saying um jose from puerto rico says happy new year thanks for being with us greg jenkins said ordered 19 items a few days ago and i look forward to receiving them well we thank you for your support and purchase and um hopefully you get them very soon so you do um so you mckinnon afton you run the store the online store and you guys ship worldwide right we do and i think some you know like even right now like australia closed their borders and so we're not shipping to australia and some countries we're getting things back and having a harder time i think with covid they've shipping's just been interesting do you guys mix and temp paint we do not mix and temp paint um we're hoping we're hoping for somebody who's asking about colors right now you were on a search to find a good cabinet coding and so you found centurion um 2k poly and so we realized a lot of people are painting white and so we are selling that on our store we're not selling colors but we're hoping in 2022 that we will be run the store along with um lisa and so carlos says what do you think about benjamin moore command waterborne acrylic urethane for cabinets we've heard a lot about it and you haven't tried it yet so so i it's interesting because i went to on the last show i went to i went to the um the woodworking show in vegas not too long ago heard about it um uh from the benjamin moore booth and they really um highly praised that we've heard some really good things about it from some other people i've tried to get it here i can't get it they don't sell it here and so getting it is um in the one painting i do have one contact that i could try but i think that's something we do want you to try because you want to know what products are out there just about every job i do nowadays i'm one of the things i have now is because we sold our painting company and i don't have a large crew and i just work alone now i sometimes have helpers i do luke helps me yeah so luke i try to help don't i you'd help um so i i do after helping you luke helps with luke he um he's gonna marry my daughter's uh he's gonna marry my daughter here soon in a few weeks and he's a real estate agent and then he when he's not busy with the real estate he works with me the job so i do have help um but i i was getting to was i get to use every single job i do nowadays i i just about use something new so i'm trying out a lot of new stuff so so um pat no alto sparks that i'm looking to compare spraying with airless versus hvlp what are your thoughts um it all depends on the the coating you're using so centurion um centurion 2k poly was actually the 2800 series was designed to spray with an airless sprayer and it sprays extremely well with an airless sprayer um with that being said um airless sprayer these products are really expensive and aerospar uses more product has more overspray creates a lot more dust so you got to take that into account um it's more plug and play you don't have to um you don't have to thin any products ever with an airless sprayer um with these coatings because they're very thin to begin with i actually on the center actually thicken it before i run it through an airless now um with an hvop you can really control your pattern your spray patterns significantly less um overspray uh you're going to use less product because there is less over spray there's less dust creating that is slower um it is slower and airless sprayer is quite a bit faster so definitely there's i mean it's there is trade-offs and it's what what you're familiar and comfortable with using so the beauty about um centurion the 2800 series is you can use either or you can use an airless or um an hvlp so some products you can't use an air list because um just the type of product they are viscosity and stuff they don't hang very well they run really easy and stuff and so and some of the products you really should use in hvlp so um louis lopez it's been a while from san jose some life changes so been m.i.a recommend i'd recommend the limbic scraper uh the limbic scraper is an amazing um so there's two things that you should always have in your pocket is that painter that'd be fifty dollars the two edge knife and the linbite scraper are two tools that you have to have in your pocket so there's um there's the website it looks like it's backwards george life supply you are the first winner of a 50 gift you a ton of money so i've i've used it multiple times hooking it to um a 20-foot extension pole stood on the ladder and cut around a ceiling um fan that we couldn't there was no way to reach it was it um a business really to help his business yeah i have a playlist that's uh the playlist is actually um business all business related videos so you know how to bid and um how to market your your company so there's a bunch of videos in there on running uh painting companies so um and everything that i learned you know in running my paint company so um we have greetings from the painter in napa idaho so greetings i actually sent a package to napa today oh oh cool yeah so i told the girls i'm like how far is that it was kind of a joke because we have a lot of snow and so that would take a lot of time to drive very slowly yeah so it's actually it's been snowing here in boise it's alton says he bought bug juice from your store and it works amazing can you explain what bike juice is absolutely amazing this is one of those products it's great if you own a painting company it is an upsell to sell so what we would do is is we would buy the bug juice and then um we would actually double the cost or triple the cost of it you know add it as an upsell and i think like an average size house we would tell the customers 225 to add the bug juice to the paint and bug juice is an insecticide and it's a environmentally safe insecticide so it's gone through a bunch of testing and stuff so the epa has said it's safe to use inside and outside even around food service areas so make sure you read the instructions on it how to use it and stuff but you just dump in the paint stir it in and then apply your paint and and it lasts it says up to five to seven years and i know i've gone back to apartment complexes and stuff on the river down here about hours infested with spiders and bugs and they they were still after five years nothing on the places and i've painted my house multiple times and use it and it's amazing it is because we have kind of in the country and so there's a lot of dust and bugs and stuff in our house is pretty good so pink paint paint company just passing on the blessing you've changed my life and you never know it thank you thank you very much thank you appreciate paint paint company yeah thank you for the really appreciated so greg jenkins said i tried to or the scraper let me know when you get them back in stock so greg we ordered them like two months ago from new zealand and yesterday yesterday we got a call from customs and i think we gave them the information we needed to and so they are on their way to boise so hopefully we should get them by the beginning of next week so sometimes things get hung up in customs and but with our store there's a button can you say a button it's a notify me button notify me and you'll get notified because this is what i when we get those we usually get like hundreds of them but there's some items like the echosan sander will get 10 of them people will push that notify button they'll get notified and um all of a sudden usually when we get the accent centers they sell out right away because we never get very many because there's a big shortage of them and so people are like going to buy one thinking well they just got notified and you know they didn't jump on soon enough and get in they don't get one that's happened the last couple times with that cassand sanders yeah so emma says just want to say thank you for all your videos with your tips and tricks i successfully painted
