Bulldozer (track loader) Excavator getting started clearing fields on the farm! See how it's done!

hey this is Josh Tony Ridge farmer welcome to the farm vlog today today is the big day the big day that the timber crew is done on this side of the farm and the excavator and bulldozer crew is getting started so we've got an excavator over here he's pulling stumps right back here we've got a caterpillar nine sixty three and it's a loader and it's clearing out and pushing up dirt basically we're going to take all this rough and crusty land and all these little stumps we're gonna pull them out I'll give you a little bit of footage tell you what's going on so come along today and we'll show you what's going on on the farm these guys are moving they're moving fast they've already cleared about five acres in the last two days over on the other side of the farm in some wet type Bottom some sandy bottom areas and now they're working on the hillside here you're gonna get everything cleaned up so we can turn this ugly nasty mess into a big beautiful wonderful pasture right here in front of our house [Music] new h-bomb [Laughter] I just got back from our road trip and I have a nasty cold like summertime colds are the worst I really don't feel like doing a vlog but this is only gonna happen for a couple days these guys are rocking and rolling and moving let's go over here and check it out and I'll describe to you what they're doing it's really cool so you can see right here the loader is pushing up a stump and it's really interesting to watch and push and how they dig this out some of these stumps will have deeper roots the hardwood trees the oats and stuff and some of them have really shallow roots so he's pushing these stumps up so this morning when I woke up it was like a tank battalion was in my front lawn this has been going on for about three days now and they've been doing it over on the other side of the farm and they just showed up this morning brought their equipment over and got to work really expensive project here okay guys each machine is costing me $100 an hour right now so you can do the math a 10-hour day as two thousand bucks a day but these guys can clear some land it's working out to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 to $1,000 per acre and you can't really tell but there's a big gully here and they're gonna fill in that gully take all the old stumps and brush roll them over in there cover them up with dirt in a heap so after it settles it'll smooth out flat let's get a little more footage of these guys so there's really no fumbling around here guys they are hitting it hard this is what's happened in the last 15 minutes so guys and gals the times are over about fussing about having to work or not having anything to do here on the farm because look back here behind me there's a lot of work going in store for me you got to go over to the county and get the no-till seed drill and we'll show you how all this stuff works and we'll drill in grass seed after it get this all smoothed out the process goes they clear out the land and then they'll come over with a big disc harrow and I'll show you all this stuff and then we'll come back in behind them and seed it out and fertilize it and make sure we get some good grass started so that the land doesn't wash the ultimate goal is to turn this into beautiful grassland just like this so that's what the goal is we're turning that mess into beautiful pasture awesome guys I'm gonna throw the drone up in the air get some cool footage of these guys doing a little bit of work and you follow me for the next few vlogs will show you how everything is going how this whole process works out and how we turn ugly land into beautiful beautiful pasture let's get the drone up and watch these guys do some work while we still can because they move so fast by tomorrow afternoon this whole area behind me this whole area which is about four acres all but from here all the way back over here that entire area will be cleared off by tomorrow afternoon and ready to be disc up cut up and smoothed over for some grass seed crazy how fast they work let's start the drone up and check it out [Music] country [Music] here with [Music] so guys thanks a lot for joining me on the farm blog today this is true farming this is what's going on we are bringing back these old overgrown fields and putting them back to pasture hard work lots of time and lots of effort is going into this place and I thank you for joining me click that like button give me a thumbs up if you like what you see this is josh turner rich farmer stay tuned for some future vlogs where we'll show you exactly what's going on I'm gonna go in and eat some chicken noodle soup because I've got a cold but I appreciate you coming to see me guys all right thanks a lot [Music] Pierce we've had some ways opposed to me stone Tyrion Oh
