(19,106 characters)Good morning one and all. We are at Crysteel where we are beginning another truck build. Step one is to put on a snow plow that nobody has ever seen before. It's a brand new plow made by Boss and it has some very unique features that Boss has seen people inside of the industry really love. And so they took all of the best of the best and stuck them into one snow plow. So we're going to check out what that looks like inside these doors. The truck we're working on today is an F350 that's been tuned and deleted and we're turning this into an amazing work truck for one of you guys. We are going to be giving this away at the Dirt Monkey Shop but there's technology that's going into the back of this truck and there's more to this than what meets the eye here. So let's just give you this sneak peek and then head back over to Crysteel. [Applause] [Music] All right guys, we've got Cody from Crysteel here and our truck I think just showed up. Hey Alex. How's it going? Did you get the new lift put in it? >> Yeah. How much of a lift did you put in it? I probably raised this one up a good 4 in but it was only a 3 in but factory suspension was settled out a little bit so And now we're going to put new tires and rims on it as well, right? Guys, Alex, you know Cody. Cody, you know Alex. Um the reason I brought Cody out is because he wants to make sure that he tries to get the plow set up for whatever we're going to do and since we already already got the >> If you already got lifted, that's easy. We'll we'll lower it down to 15 and 1/2 where it needs to be. I was just telling Stanley if you were going to lift it afterwards, we'd have to send some extensions with you but We should be good. What about with the new tires and rims going on? What size tires are they? It's probably going to gain and I mean those are 32s and we're probably going to go to a 36 by 1250. Okay. So probably another 2 in in actual height gained. So what I'll do is I'll put an extra 2 in of movement in that mount Yeah. so that you can lower it down. It just has to be a 15 and 1/2 to the center hole. Right. So whenever you get the tires, you can drop it down those two. Wait, you tinted the windshield. >> Yeah. No wonder we couldn't tell like I don't I think he's in there. And you guys, this is our new shirts too. Yeah, we're already You look like you're already working it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right, well we'll let Cody do what he's got to do with it. We just wanted to show you what it looks like before we get started but it's not really a before anymore. This is the halfway after. Did you do something with the lights here too? Yeah, I put Recon lights in the side. I put all new Recon cab lights in there. I had the whole headliner pulled out of here on Saturday. Oh my god. >> Sunday, sorry, yesterday. Huh. Yeah, it sucked. Yeah, it sucked. What kind of a lift did you put in it? >> How long did that take? The whole day. Huh. Yeah. And then also remember that. Yeah, 4 in straight pipe exhaust and their EGR delete. No DEF, no no issues. Super reliable. Let's put it that way. Let's just say this truck looked like grandpa's truck last time I seen it. I can't believe how far you've come that quick. >> And once these are 18s on there, once it gets some 20s and some more rubber on there, it'll kind of fill it in a little more. [Applause] Hey guys, I'm back with Cody. How are you? >> Good. How are you doing? Did the install go good? It did. Went really seamless for us. This is Boss's brand new TEV snow plow with some very unique features. This is the new TEV. So it's got trip edge only technology. So you don't no longer have the full moldboard trip with this particular plow. It actually will trip. It centers here. Has trip springs on the back that have adjustable tension on them. Um you'll notice the A-frame is different. This part, rather than having springs for a full moldboard trip, is adjustable for cutting attack angle. Oh, look at that. So if your truck's lifted or a little bit off from where they say, you can change this to get the back of it higher to level it out. >> You know what this reminds me of is those guys up in the northeast that love their trip edge plows. They swear by them and they swear at anything else. Cuz it's perfect for freestyle cycles, uneven terrain or like gravel drives. >> Exactly. Yeah. It's easier on the truck. So when you hit something, that trip edge is just tripping the whole moldboard and tripping and then pulling back and getting that double the double whammy. Whammy. Yep. Whammy. But there's more to this plow than just the trip edge. Yes, the biggest thing the biggest thing that Boss did was change this connector right here. Um so this connector is nice and sealed proof. So if you look at that, there's only communication wires in here and then there's a nice solid connection point with a weather proof seal. So you got one connector rather than two connectors. The 13 pin is no longer part of the this technology. >> So now you've got one connector to rule them all. Yep. Basically what it what what it boils down to is when you hook that up, everything is connected. Yep. You're not running out running two separate wires. >> No, you're not running two separate wires. There's no solenoid under the hood anymore. Everything is done right in here. Which the data communication part of it or the the communication now has less wiring for the truck. So now inside the truck, we have less wiring that's going into the truck. It's very seamless putting them together. It allows for these marker lights to be strobe lights when we hit the auxiliary switch which we'll show you in a little bit. And then it allows for clear view technology which is this light will turn on and off and we'll show you that with the controller. That's really cool cuz what that does is that gives a contractor the ability to separately control and direct light to the side, to the curb where he's plowing. Exactly. Okay, turn clear beam off once. What a difference. Holy crap. Holy Okay, so turn it off one more time. Turn clear beam on. That's unreal. Yeah. That's insane. Yep. And they so they this is their SL4 headlight. Um better heating grid, way brighter and you we'll we'll show that later. It is to me the brightest light that you can buy out there, especially with the clear view technology. Turn on the strobes to me. Turn it up. Let's turn on the Let's turn that stuff on. All right guys, I'm going to jump in here just to clarify one thing. In this video, it looks like those lights, the head the headlights are flashing and strobing. That is just the camera playing games with it. The actual strobe lights are the amber lights and those do flash but the actual headlights don't flash. That's just the frame rate of the camera messing with the headlights. So now you've got integrated strobes right on the controller. >> Yep. And that comes that'll control the front. Can you turn on the the the clear view side? There it is. So clear beam comes on with high beam only. So you can't have it on a low beam but when you put high beam on, you can then select that to turn on and off. They did read read They changed all this up front, made it a lot stronger. And then they they actually changed the smart switch. It works exactly the same way, just change it to a more robust switch that can handle the weather a little bit better. Otherwise, it hooks and unhooks just like your typical Boss. And but wait, there's more because we've got some new technology in the back of the truck and some new technology that's going to go on our trailer as well that we want to show you but let's take a look at this controller. So universal controller. So this controller will do every plow that Boss has to do including down force. It's a programmable controller just from right inside here. These are the auxiliary switches that we talked about. This one will turn orange for strobe. >> And I'm going to jump in here cuz the microphone cut out on Cody for a second but the other side he currently has programmed for clear view. But this can be completely switched around and customized and we'll show you that in just a moment. as well. As far as the controls, basically the same. You got wing wing out which is up top. >> hold that up? Sure. And then when you got back and then this will work it like a straight blade almost where it'll move side to side with just one switch which Boss hasn't had before. You always had to hold your thumb in the two switches. Now you can go back and forth and not have to individually move your hand. >> Now, can this be this controller be retrofitted with older Boss snow plows? Okay, so it's it's part of the new >> Yep. It's It's basically It's communicating directly with the plow module now. >> Okay, good to know. So, put these back. And I'll show you how to get into program mode. So, we'll shut it off, and then we'll hold it for 5 seconds. [Music] And it'll turn on. So, when you're in this mode, you can change this to be only clear view, or clear view comes on only. Another strobe button, if you just want them both strobe. Red is to control the sander. So, if you have a VBX plus sander, you can turn it on and off with this red switch. So, this plow system, the wiring all goes in communication with the VBX plus spreader as well. So, there's a diagnostic port under there that'll tell you fault codes um in both the sander and the plow, if you have it. Um so, this is very intuitive to the the VBX plus and the plow, and gives diagnostic information for those problems when you bring them in, go, "Hey, my plow did this last night, and it doesn't work or it's working fine right now." Well, we can go in and see what fault codes were in there. >> Oh, okay. >> that is nice. So, we'll set this back up for your high beam, and then the cool part with the when you go to the strobe lights, is you can hit the down button, you can change your pattern on what you want it to be. So, if you go if you go like this, you can change it, and it'll show you how it's flashing, so you don't have to get out and look at it. So, it'll actually >> So, this duplicates what the actual happening up there. >> right from there. >> Oh my god, guys are going to have too much fun with this. >> you hit down, it's in program mode, you just hold it, it'll save it, and that's your setting. So, then just click it on like normal. That is so cool. >> That's your clear view. That's your strobes. That is That is cool. Cody, that is cool. And I especially like the fact that that controller also controls the VBX plus sander. >> Yes. The to go in and change it to strobe, strobes on a plow just make the most sense in the world to me. Yeah. And then as well as having where you can go straight blade mode to me, where you can go back and forth, that's huge. And just the where the user can make it what what he wants it to be. >> Make makes his own experience. All right, when we come to the back of the truck, I want to introduce you guys to Keith. Hey, guys. Party up front, business in back, right? This is the ultimate mullet giveaway. Um but this brine sprayer really is the simplest, easiest way for a guy to get into brining that may have never done this before. >> Absolutely correct. So, let's take a look at this unit. This is similar to the unit that we operate, but even simpler. Yes. And it's capacity. So, we open it up, we've got the hose can extend right over the Lift that up and down for me one more time. So, you can have your gate up, or you can have your gate down. Yep. Okay, so as we plop our gate down, Heath, Yeah. we can just fork this in and out right there and there. >> Okay. >> Yep. So, you just use the fork pockets there. Basically, you got your pumps that are right inside of here. Okay. >> So, you have two 7-gallon per minute pumps that are in here, giving you 14 gallons per minute that will pump out there. Once you have this set in, these two connections here, this connection here is for your power ground. This connection here is for your controller. So, for you guys that are familiar with our VSI and our brine operation, we have the gas-powered version of this. And this is just like our gas version, but a lot simpler. Let's break this down for you. We've eliminated that. >> Absolutely correct. Yeah, it's made it You don't have to worry about maintaining the engine. Uh you don't have to worry about maintaining all the different valves and everything else that's out there. >> Alex, come check this out compared to ours. Look at this thing. It's got two plugs. There's no gas motor, two plugs here and here, and the truck powers the unit. Wow. That's pretty slick. And it's still got the integrated hose reel on it. >> Yep, still has your 50-ft hose reel on top. So, when you need to do those sidewalks, walk areas, entryways, you just get the hose reel out there and de-ice that as well. So, you can pull this out, so you do sidewalk jobs with it. And what do you just have this So, you have it wired right into the truck. Before we look at the controller, let's look at the spray bar. Walk me through this. Still got the gate up, so you can get a better view of it. So, now this is going to be an 84-in single lane boom with all the pile drive nozzles underneath, giving that spray, covering the area there. So, you have that, and then you also can reconnect this up to the fan bar, just like you have on the legacy series. That would be for our pre-treating, if you you want to decide to pre-treat as well before the storm comes in, that'll give that fan effect uh to give you coverage. And so, now this is our controller for the uh Genesis series. Basically, you're in off mode here. Uh-huh. Flip it up. We just turned it on. You can actually hear it running back there. And then this down here is for the hose reel to be sending liquid to there. And I don't know if you heard in the background, things were running when we flipped the switch. >> That's it. It's as straightforward and simple as it is. >> And you're going. Huh. That's pretty easy. Yeah. It's very easy. Turn that Turn it on once. I want to see I want to watch it spray once. >> Oh, you bet. All right, turn her off. [Music] All right, uh can you grab the hose reel? I want to watch Hold Give me a second, Heath. I I want to watch this. All right, let's spray This is just windshield washer fluid, so don't worry about it. Go for it. The spray bar or the uh hose reel. Keep it Keep the trigger open. Turn it off in the cab, the hose reel. There you go. Look at that. So, you can control it from there or from inside the cab. You got to mix the brine. Correct, you got to make it. You got to make it, and so this is how you actually make it. Exac- Absolutely correct. Now, this is the brine buddy. Okay. Uh now, this is a great portable unit um you know, for the guys who are just getting started. Uh you know, and for the guys that aren't using tens of thousands of gallons per per brine per snow event. Right. Um this unit right here, it just plugs into an outlet. Um you literally can fill it with a garden hose. Um great thing about this, you put the You start filling with the garden hose in there, there is a sensor in here that when it gets to 300 gallons, it'll automatically turn off the water, so you don't have to stand around and wait for it. Okay. Um so, it makes 300 gallons per batch. This is your salt hopper here. Yep. So, basically, you're just breaking bags of ice. You fit about 300 lb of salt in here. Yep. So, to get to your brine to the 23.3% that you need to be at, >> Right. >> you're looking at about 650 lb of salt per batch. Okay. >> To get to that point, so you are going to have to keep refilling it. And it is a hand operation. You're not going to be able to bring the bucket loader in and just dump it in. You know, so you either got bags you're breaking >> can make up to 1,000 gallons of brine per hour. >> Yep. So, you can fill that truck three times per hour, or uh when it's not snowing, get a separate storage bin, and have your brine preset, however you want to do it. But >> Absolutely correct. >> you know, if you're caught in the middle of of of heck breaking loose, and you need a lot of brine, making 1,000 gallons an hour is not a bad deal, especially when it's such a simple setup. >> Exactly. Yeah, I mean, you could have a 2 or 3,000-lb holding tank or gallon holding tank outside. >> Yep. You'd have that filled up in 3 to 4 hours. The only other option a guy has is they have another size bigger Correct. >> for massive operations, and you load that with a loader. Yep. So, that one you have to get get the legacy brine maker. Now, that's making 600 gallons per batch, about 3,000 gallons per hour. >> Per hour, okay. >> But those are That's where you get into major brine making, and you're in a stationary area, and everything needs to be set up. >> Yep. So, that's one. Once you're set, you're set. The great thing about this is portable, so you can bring this to wherever the heck you need it. And that's a perfect idea. So, now if we if a guy is getting into brine for the first time, they're Boss has an entire library of information for these guys, and it's called bossplow.com/elevateyourliquidIQ. So, if you ever are wondering, "How do I get into this?" or you want information or answers or formulas, the guys at VSI have got it all dialed in. I mean, there's you're not a left alone, but this is the perfect way to get into brine. Between the unit in the back and the mixer right here, a guy's in in the brine business at this point. >> Yes, you are. Yeah, and Jordan and I did an entire series last year where we broke down all of the formulas, everything that you needed to know so that we took away all of the questions to help you guys get started. And now, we have the first time the Dirt Monkey team, Tim, Alex, and I have the first time ever to be able to to get one of you guys completely set up with the truck, the plow, the brine mixer, and the brine sprayer in the back. Plus this amazing trailer from Rice Trailers. We're trying to get it set up so whoever wins this walks away with a complete business ready to go. They have nothing to do besides put insurance on it, and they can start paying the bills and making a living for their family. This is basically a dream come true for us guys, and it's been an honor to go along with you guys and make this happen. It's all inside the Dirt Monkey shop, so you guys want to find out more information, just go over to the Dirt Monkey shop. It's completely free to enter, but if you do buy one of our t-shirts, we're going to multiply the amount of chances you have to win this setup. So, go check it out inside the Dirt Monkey shop. God bless you guys, and go get them. We'll see you over there.
