Seal Flashing with Tape

What happens here

Once the metal flashing is securely in place, unroll a section of flashing tape, such as 'Zip System Flashing Tape'. Begin by carefully aligning the tape over the top edge of the metal flashing, ensuring it overlaps both the flashing and the house wrap above it. Press the tape down firmly with your hand, then use a roller tool to apply consistent pressure, smoothing out any air bubbles and ensuring a complete and watertight seal. This prevents water from getting behind the flashing and into the wall assembly.

Goal: Apply flashing tape over the top edge of the installed metal flashing to create a continuous, watertight seal between the flashing and the house wrap.
