(9,611 characters)all right so let's get to the chase let's talk about montage signature paint so the product itself it is an eco-friendly paint made in the usa i believe in california has a 10 year warranty and um it's a scrubbable water-based paint that cleans up with soap and water it covers about 350 square feet per gallon you can brush it you can roll it you can spray it um it dries yep 30 minutes to 60 minutes it's um you recode it in about four hours so a lot of these the statistics on this it's just pretty typical stereotypical of most exterior paints that i've ever used it's an interior and exterior vein it's um it's a green product it has less than 150 grams per liter of vocs if that means anything to you now so those are some of the stats um from you know the tds or the can of the paint and i'd say it performs you know very similar to a lot of interior exterior paints that i've used in the paint it has a 10 year warranty which is pretty incredible for this product itself it's a upcycle bait not a recycled paint i'll just go over that here briefly in just a second a 10-year warranty is incredible i'm kind of used to and accustomed to using um lifetime warranty paints but this has its place because it's a upcycled product so what is upcycled versus recycled um recycled paint so it's interesting how many millions of gallons of paint aren't getting used you know by by professional painters or do-it-yourselfers they eventually migrate themselves to landfills and end up in the landfills these paint recycling centers are taking that from and keeping it from going to the landfill they box it they batch it um strain it and then they repackage it and send it out as recycled paint and um it's great because it's saving paint from going into the landfill and saving it from the environment i want to be a good steward of our planet and our environment not only for myself but you know for the future generation of my of my family so recycled paint is one thing upcycled paint which montage signature paint is an upcycled paint and the difference is they take all the paint they um separate it they batch it mix it turn it into some colors um strain it but then they do some a lot of testing of the paint and make sure it's a high quality paint make sure it could um withstand a lot a 10-year warranty make sure it's scrubbable so that process that could include um putting resins it could include putting titanium it does include putting the mild side in there is one of the differences between my experience with recycled paint there's a strong holder of mildew and every recycled product i've used and inside that becomes a big problem montage paint being upcycled kill the mildew put a build aside in there so it keeps on mildew from growing on the bay inside or outside open the product up it has a pleasant odor even more pleasant than most just typical interior and exterior paints i use um doesn't give me a headache it smells decent inside and outside so there is a big difference between recycled paint and upcycled paint which um montage signature paint is so where did i get um the the paint itself montage signature paint i got it from amazon.com you can get from amazon.com walmart.com and you can even get it directly from montage itself if you go directly from montage as a contractor you can get contractor uh discounts and even save more money i paid 95 for a five on amazon and that's going to be around 19 a gallon if you buy it um singly it's about twenty two dollars a gallon and when you compare that to the paints that i typically use uh on on extra painting they're usually right around sixty to seventy dollars a gallon a gallon that's a huge saving that's around fifty dollars a gallon savings you know in cost so what are the limitations to um upcycled and recycled paint so some of the limitations are you know all these paints there's a lot of paints coming in from all different locations they're boxing and batching them straining them and then mixing them into colors you cannot tint recycled or upcycled paint the colors are what they are when they box them and mix mix them now montage has a color palette so you can select from this color palette and it's it's a pretty nice color palette with a good wide variety of colors and i think they're really good colors the palette's really good for exterior painting got some of your trendy grays browns reds and um but limitation you don't have just this big old fan deck that you can choose a color and tint it to just about any color that you want you do have a color palette you do have a limited number of sheens they got lotion and i believe they have semi-gloss the low sheen um is definitely lower than a satin i think it's pretty ideal for exterior painting i think it's pretty ideal for interior painting because most of the um satins that i use in here next year i think are just a little bit too high in sheen i do like the low sheen but they don't have like glosses they don't have flats so you're definitely limited in sheen also is there a limitation in your touch-up ability and inconsistency in colors from my experience with you know the recycle paint i've used and the upcycled paint um you know montage their um colors are extremely consistent i've ordered um paint for entire projects it's come out in multiple fives multiple multiple singles and from the naked high you can't even tell a color difference i've gone back and done touch-ups right in the middle of field you can't even tell but you um i think one of the limitations is going to be because they do it in these these gigantic large batches you can't get say this color right here uh blue bayou today and expect to get it you know two years from now and it'll be the exact same color and be able to touch up with it so you definitely want to always buy what you're going to need for that project i got i bought it from amazon got shipped literally in a couple days very fast but it is um also it's an eco-friendly upcycled paint and i think that's a great selling point that you could uh market to your customers that you're um that you're willing to use these type of products and there's customers that will even pay more you know then um seventy dollars a gallon if you would be willing to use upcycled pain so it could be a selling point where you can make money on the paint as a professional painter or to actually save the customer by you know i'm using paint that's only twenty dollars a gallon versus seventy dollars a gallon and that's going to add up very fast on a house which is typically about 25 25 gallons of pay per um average house so just go over a little my um of my experience brushing rolling and spraying it because you can brush roll and spray it now brushing and rolling absolutely amazing it hangs extremely well it covers very very well in all the colors other than white i think that the white covers about average about most of the whites you know out there across the board now i think it was on three coats on the white i was using on the extra house it was kind of a dark color the um all the grays and the blues the reds that i use they cover in one coat but we too um two coated you know everything because that's pretty um typical of how you know we do things but it brushed well hung well didn't splatter um hardly at all so across the board those things it performed very well spraying some of the you know the high-end expensive products you don't hang very well when spraying they run really easy they run really easy doing cut ins so it it sprayed extremely well going through all my production tips 515s 517s heat tips very little overspray very little fallouts um very no runs at all so i was very happy with that are there some limitations um i have to say one of the limitations is from my experience can't go through fine finished tips so i tried three tens five tens two 00 weights 308s and it couldn't go through um those tips so if you do have any questions um on the paint or product you can go check out montagepaint.com so that's montage m-o-n-t-a-g-e montagepaint.com i'm sure you can get a hold of the company ask any questions that you may have not got answered in this um video it's manufactured in azusa california so it's once again it's a usa made product so the company recycles it and then they upcycle it and package it right here in the united states so montage signature paint is this a paint that i would recommend so i definitely i would highly recommend you know especially professional painters to add this you know as a service to your company using you know upcycled paint that you are an eco-friendly you know paint company that's um you know has this option because i i do think you know there's more and more customers out there you know wanting products like this you are saving it from going to the landfill you are saving quite a bit of money so i think it's a good option you should market this you know on your website you should mark it in your bit packet um and you should you know just talk about this in general with your customers is a an option you know and you are do have the limitations of color so you can quickly show them the colors available to them you know and get that over with when you're meeting them doing an estimate you know it's something they're going to want to do i'm going to continue using it i've used it inside and outside in the past i really like the product i do highly recommend the product if you ever use the product and have any experience with it you know good or bad definitely let us know down in the comment section below
