Excavator Track Repair

Bad Start on the First Day
What happens here
Due to unforeseen circumstances, an excavator track popped off early in the project. To reattach it, first locate the grease zerk on the track tensioner. Loosen this zerk to release pressure on the grease, allowing the track idler to move backward and create slack in the track. Use a skid steer with forks to carefully push the idler assembly further back, providing enough room to guide the track back onto the rollers. After the track is partially on, the machine can be slowly maneuvered to fully seat the track. Once the track is back on, replace the broken grease zerk with a new one (specifically a 10,000 PSI grease zerk, purchased as part of a nut and everything kit, for about $16). Pump grease into the new zerk to re-tension the track. Use a tape measure to match the track tension/distance from the other side of the machine to ensure even tension.
Goal: Reattach a dislodged excavator track and restore proper tension.
