Begin by assessing the towel rack. Identify the side that has become loose or detached from the wall. Gently pull on the loose side to confirm it's no longer securely anchored. Carefully remove the decorative cover of the towel rack mount by lifting or twisting it to expose the mounting bracket and screws underneath. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, loosen and remove the screws holding the metal mounting bracket to the wall. Once the screws are out, remove the mounting bracket and extract the old, failed plastic wall anchors from the drywall holes. The video highlights that these original anchors were not effective.
