Arccaptain Welder Settings Explained ( So Your Welds Stop Sucking )

What happens here

Consult a third-party welding app, like the Miller app, for recommended settings. For 1/4 inch material, .035 inch wire, and 75% Argon/25% CO2 shielding gas, the Miller app recommends 21-22V and 180-190A. Adjust the welder's amperage dial to match these recommendations. The machine will automatically adjust the voltage in synergy mode to closely align with the suggested range. For this demo, settings are adjusted to 21.0V and 196A.

Goal: Set welder parameters according to a trusted third-party guide

All right. So, now we're running the Miller settings. Here are the Miller settings. Amperage range 180 190 21 to 22 volts. We're doing quarter inch plate. And what's cool about this machine is if you go to adjust your amps, it adjusts your volts as well. So it wants us to do So the Miller app says 21 to 22 volts. That puts us at about 196 amps. So you're not far off from what the what the Miller app is saying. So let's put it at this setting. Let's weld with it and uh see how that turns out versus our 600 inches per minute. I'm going to go ahead and run this gap so you guys can hear with the Miller settings and then I'm going to run this gap here with my settings. What I like to do. Do you hear that? More of a sizzling sound. So, that's how that is supposed to look. And I got nozzle gel on there, too. So, that's that's pretty good. That's what I like to see. Now, I'm going to turn up a little bit. I like to burn a little bit hotter. So, I'm going to go up a little bit on my amps. And I'm probably going to go to like 210, 215, and we'll burn it. So, we ran the R Captain settings. We ran the Miller settings. Now, this is what I like to do. 22.2 volts, 215 amps. 409 in per minute. Let's run it.
