anatomy of a well-structured soil-retaining wall
What happens here
The project begins with significant excavation to create a deep and wide trench, much larger than the footprint of the planned wall itself, to accommodate proper backfill and drainage. Large, irregular natural stones are then carefully placed to form the base course of the retaining wall. This involves preparing a level and compacted trench bed to ensure the stability of the first layer of stones.
Goal: Establish the foundational base and initial structure of the retaining wall.
