Apply Misting and Smooth with Trowel

What happens here

With the misting solution prepared, lightly spray the area of the drywall compound you wish to smooth. Immediately after misting, use your trowel or broad knife to gently skim coat the wet surface. Apply light, even pressure, using overlapping strokes to spread the re-wetted compound and eliminate any existing lap marks or imperfections. The mist helps to reactivate the surface of the compound, making it more pliable and easier to feather out to a smooth, unblemished texture, resulting in a finish that is ready for sanding.

Goal: Smooth out lap marks and achieve a uniform, finish-ready surface on the drywall compound.
