🔴 Airless Spraying Tip Sizing Q&A

wrong microphone ah so we're trying to deal with my daughter who has got a flat tire on the side of the road so it's worth getting roadside service there so okay Jenny says I'm on so looks like we are on and what inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence so in yeah what what what's the in eminent mean now in a minute I'm gonna have to type that that's a good that's a good question I'm gonna type that one or you can give me the definition of what a man is so everybody says they can hear me so today we started our first exterior today kind of exciting the hammer outside no more interiors till the second week of November so um so I guess we are doing interior we're trying to get I got all excited for nothing yes I'm all dressed up I don't have any paint life gear on I came home and actually had time to take a shower so there you go off Aloha from Hawaii we got Hawaii's in the house super Jack from film film stopping it's not real imminent is not real what it is um so within a minute Chuck would you if it's not real then how could you eliminate it from existence company does not have yes I have to go to take care of this real fast I'll be back all right we're trying to no we're trying to take care of so I'll tell you the game I got a few giveaways I'm gonna get be giving away two thank but two today so we're gonna be taught to talk about a couple things on my wife hopefully if we can't get this resolved I might have to leave and go get my daughter but um so a tow company that we're dealing with doesn't have GPS I mean imagine that no GPS so um I got the little bucket I'm gonna be giving away a roll bucket we've we actually like these things and we like them a lot so I'm gonna be giving one away so if you've never tested one out say to him I'd be giving one giving one away but today we're on a next year and I wanted to talk about getting pumps ready for four for work for exterior season because more likely if you haven't been spraying interiors we have a whole lot of pumps and then the pumps we use for exterior we don't use them typically for interiors they're big pumps so we had a 795 today a great go 795 we haven't used it for the whole winter and we brought it out and we with the primont so it's probably new fairly new sprayer and you know typically you're just gonna take your intake throw it into the paint take your prime tube throw it into an empty bucket with some water in it and then we're gonna turn that thing on fire it up and stick it to prime it's gonna prime start taking up paint and send it out the prime tube and away you go and that's as simple it is as it is and this one didn't what in prime so we hit it to prime and nothing was happened nothing's coming out of the prime tube nothing's happened nothing's happening at all so wooden prime and so a pump that's been sitting for a long time here's a couple things troubleshooting wise the first thing we did was put throw seal in the piston because sometimes you can get some paint dried up paint in there and stuff that can stick things up and stick the ball up there you're gonna have a ball down you know inside where the fluid section is itself in that ball could could be stuck but there could be something down when that piston is and I've had Pistons get stuck before so we threw some TSL down in there from some TSL or throat seal some people know his throat seal and then we turned it back on you can see the piston going up and down and it still wasn't priming and so my next thought was is the steel ball that's in there and it sits in a seat that moves up and down allows paint to go up but not to come back and that steel ball sometimes go get things stuck in it or if it's been sitting for a long period of time you know if the sprayer hasn't been cleaned out well enough or it doesn't have like like antifreeze or air anti-corrosive been that the ball would get stuck so I just wouldn't got a hammers and when I was sitting there and John turned on the machine and I just tapped on with the fluid section where that ball would be just very lightly tapped on it ding ding ding and then it just started priming simple way of growth all it was it was inside didn't have to tear anything apart it was just that boss inside there was just you know have probably something around it just just for sitting for a long period of time just was stuck there so a very simple thing to go check and this is one of those things when your pumps not priming you know you can tap it with a hammer sometimes if there's a piece of paint or a piece of grass or something there you can tap with a hammer but what a lot of people you know some people have a tendency to do they start banging that thing really hard and I got a couple my sprayers that's some of the new guys you know just started going to town banging on it you know super hard and just a few little taps if that doesn't do it then you got to go to other methods and like I say I've got a couple for 40s that are beat the heck because of the guys were banging them too hard so simple little tip that for all you guys are gonna be breaking out your sprayers but it's very common if you store your sprayers one thing that will help alleviate that the reason why this happened to this sprayer it was stored and when we start running the water out and nobody ran any antifreeze in there or we use our beyond you freeze automobile antifreeze and and you know great go sells their own pump Armour which is the same thing as Auto antifreeze and that will help keep things from corroding inside there and sticking together so you know somebody forgot to run the antifreeze in there and we typically run antifreeze in there year-round whether it's gonna weathers there's low temperatures or not just because of the anti corrosive you know compounds in it so there you have it tip for the day and I'm talking about spray tips a little bit later last week we didn't open up I've got a bunch of things that people sent me I got stickers shirts but like say we're gonna be giving away a roll roller bucket today I use this thing you get did you get it resolved so good so I don't have to leave I'll be here the rest of the show so somebody drove him off with a flat tire would have been a good thing if she would have told me because I would have told me because I would've told him there was a flat tire so yeah so there you go a roller bucket so we're gonna be we're gonna be giving away one of those today I got something else here I love the roller bucket so and John absolutely loves the roller bucket so roller bucket bucket makes the two edge um blade which this place I should have grabbed boy yeah it's in the UM big I put them all in a big bin on the right side then they're big bins so here's another thing I'm gonna be giving away I think this is a stud finder so I'm gonna open it up right here see oh there we go it's a multi-function detector so it's a stud finder I'm gonna be have to get into houses and stuff like that yeah and we use we just use credit cards when we get into them if the if we got to get into your house or something like that in you know for certain reasons we just use it we know how to deal with the credit card but somebody sent me which these gun picks ten of them who wants a gun pick I'm not sure but is kind of interesting because I've tested them out and stuff I couldn't get the thing to work and I've watched a video on YouTube and stuff how do you use them but I try to model all my doorknobs around here and everything and for the life of me I couldn't get it to work but on the YouTube videos they worked it was really weird but there's a there's times there's been multiple times quite a few times my career where you know we locked herself out of a door or a customer forgot to leave us the key or whatever can we just use a credit card to get in doors and stuff and then we've always been successful but there you go a gun Pig I'm gonna give away a benthic kind of weird um I got two covered tray liners I'm gonna give away I got one of them I'm gonna give away a covered play liner these things are actually pretty cool so I'm gonna give away one of those and the paint's are they go to discs and they were discontinued selling them and they're on sale so I bought them all because I think they're pretty cool there you go so roll a bucket makes the two edge and this is the two h5n1 and knife it's a utility knife and we absolutely love these things and we sell them on our tool in our tool store at the Idaho painter calm you can get them in our tool store they are sold out other places but we got them we got a bunch of they make the roller bucket they meant the two edge and the because you like it we might be selling the robot roll bucket because we started testing it out it's set in my garage for like three months and I never tried it because I thought it was kind of corny and then we tried it and we absolutely love it so it's kind of cool that send somebody how things like that work so here we go please pick me for the gun pick so bargain like that Berkeley's maintenance but so the heat Barclays maintenance so that I mean that makes sense that he gets the gun pick what he's a maintenance guy this is to pick locks if it locks amazing sky and it has a whole um so right now bark Barclays you got a ten that's not criminal so like the maintenance guy I'm sure there's all kinds of times he would run into situations where he would use them but we've read includes the situations many many many times in my career where we've needed to get into houses or whatever and for multiple multiple different reasons while we're painting and the customer authorizes us and we can I can deal with a credit card it's pretty simple but I'm not a criminal I used to be a police officer and I know how to do that stuff far from the criminal hate watching myself on camera to call Chuck eh Sean Sinclair I would love stuff on a fence that was all gray in it it like instantly the fence was retired restored and it's really hard to believe and it's a nice variable so we are going to test it they sent us out and we'll see if it could perform a miracle we got a fence right out here in backyard video anyways we've heard about it tell us if you've used it there was a message on my phone from these guys today today five hundred five seven times on four coatings on learn more on core coatings calm in cor he encore coatings go check out the videos but it's really it's interesting no power watching nothing they squirt it on the fence and the fence was I miss crazy here we go let's see Kevin see just watch rollin videos what about where roller edges overlap and leaves shadows that are visible so the roller if you get you got to keep overlapping and keeping a really good wet edge and keep your paint you know you know super wet and heavy enough and you shouldn't be giving you know with a good quality paint and a good quality nap roller you shouldn't be getting flashing Silver Line painting says what device clean cabinets with we clean with Dawn Dawn dish soap is what we scrubber cabinets down very first thing with Dawn dish soap yeah and then we spray it with my flour my encoder primer surfacer soda tip sizing i keep getting up one of the most common questions is what tip size do i spray tram with and so and that's in interior trim all trimmed them the most versatile and the most common tip we use is a 310 tip if I was doing I don't do new construction anymore but if I was when I was doing new construction and I was doing a lot of doors if I had you know more than just a couple doors I always use the 510 on doors because you're gonna get the same you'll find finishes at 310 but you're a white or fan you're several more inches wider like four inches and you're just going to do your doors a lot faster so I always always carry you know - typically - I'd have a 310 in a 510 and I would do most of the trim with it's right 310 now if you start running into baseboards that were you'll really tall white baseboards then I would jump up to the 510 for doing that - less so this is really cool so it turned out good has Ryder painting must been watching the video right before the show our dog chewed up one of my favorite happens well yes it might not be you guys don't follow these guys on Instagram they are there you go they're doing some major marketing they do a lot of marketing so they're all over Instagram they always posting stuff pretty cool post but they got a super super cool logo and the Hat says make great so I'm super stoked that they sent me any half and sent me a shirt there you go right or painting but I think um let's go because they did except they didn't send me age yeah you can do that which through their program they yeah so I'm gonna hang that they've never sent me a shirt last time so now I got a shirt which is nice there that's very nice so well so that there's professional you know what you're doing there you go yeah that that is you know very detailed right there there's a pamphlet awesome like I mean I'm sure they probably do killer work and I think what's it they're right or PDA but you say your big packet and that's that's how you are presenting yourself to a customer and they usually tells the quality you know it says something about you what I look at that even though I didn't look at their brochure I see quality so you know there's places that you should spend money to market yourself and there's other places that you know you don't have to because you can do the work yourself but something like that I mean that that was pretty nice let's do one more one more one more you see the pile we might be - so inanimate is not alive
