Inspect Undercarriage and Install New Tracks
At 0:00 in
A lot of money and a lot of work, all in the name of increased efficiency.
What happens here
After removing the old tracks, take the opportunity to thoroughly inspect and clean the undercarriage components, including the drive sprocket, idler wheels, and rollers. Remove any accumulated dirt, debris, or damaged components. Once cleaned and inspected, carefully position the new tracks (like the 'snow tracks' seen on the pallet in the video) around the drive sprocket and idler wheels. This is often a two-person job due to the weight and stiffness of the new tracks. Use pry bars and a track jack (if available) to help guide and seat the track correctly onto the components. The video's narration confirms that 'these tracks are getting put on,' indicating this installation process.
Goal: Clean undercarriage, then mount the new tracks onto the skid-steer.
