8 Tools That Impressed Me at STAFDA 2024 | Nashville Conference Recap

What happens here

The speaker demonstrates how the hammer functions as a squaring system on a 2x12 piece of lumber. By aligning the claw, shoulder, and head of the hammer with the edge of the wood, it creates a perfect 90-degree angle. This allows for squaring all the way across a 2x12. He also points out the 1.5-inch high casting line on the hammer, which matches the width of dimensional lumber used for framing. This feature enables quick and accurate marking of stud pockets by simply marking one side of the 90-degree angle, sliding the hammer, and marking the other side.

Goal: Demonstrate the hammer's integrated squaring and marking capabilities.
