Load the Paint Roller

Before applying paint to the wall, ensure the roller nap is fully saturated. Load the roller by repeatedly rolling it in the paint pan until the nap has absorbed a significant amount of paint. This prevents 'dry napping,' where an insufficiently loaded roller can cause uneven coverage and dry spots. Listen for a distinct 'wet sound' as the roller moves in the pan, indicating proper saturation, rather than a 'hissing' sound from a dry roller.
