Align and Install Carpet Stair Tread — Align and Press Firmly in Place
Part of project
install stair treads over splitting LVP on square-nosed stairs · Step 2 of 2
In this video
Begin by taking one pre-made carpet stair tread and positioning it on the first wooden stair. Carefully align the front edge of the carpet tread with the front edge of the stair. Ensure the tread is centered horizontally on the step, leaving an even gap on both sides. Once the tread is perfectly aligned, firmly press it down onto the stair surface, working from the front edge towards the back. This action activates the adhesive backing or secures the non-slip material integrated into the tread, ensuring it adheres securely to the wooden stair. Repeat this process for each subsequent stair, maintaining consistent alignment.
