After the baluster has been accurately trimmed to size (the cutting process is not shown in this segment), apply a generous amount of wood glue, specifically Titebond Premium Wood Glue, around the removable locator pin at the bottom of the baluster. Carefully insert the glued pin into the prepared, recessed hole on the stair tread. To attach the top of the baluster, gently lift the handrail upwards just enough to create space. Then, guide the tapered top end of the baluster into its corresponding hole in the handrail. Once both the bottom pin and the top are seated, twist the baluster slightly to ensure the glue spreads evenly. Immediately wipe away any excess glue that oozes out with a damp rag for a clean finish. The goal is for the baluster to fit snugly and securely without the need for additional caulk.
