Apply Self-Adhesive Treads — Step 1: Reveal the Adhesive Backing
Part of project
how to give your staircase a makeover with carpet stair treads · Step 1 of 2
In this video
The installer begins the process of applying the carpet stair treads. For each tread, the protective film is peeled off the adhesive backing. The tread is then carefully placed onto a wooden stair, ensuring it is centered and aligned properly with the front edge of the step. Once positioned, firm pressure is applied across the entire surface of the tread to secure it in place. This process is repeated for each step of the staircase, moving sequentially from one step to the next. The video shows installation starting from the top and also from the bottom, illustrating the repetitive nature of the task.
