Begin by measuring the total length and width of the bullnose stair. First, measure from the inside corner of the wall around the bullnose curve to the outer corner, bending the tape measure around the nose. This measurement is 28 inches. Next, measure the length of the entire stair, wrapping the tape measure along the base where the carpet will be installed. This measurement is 57 inches. Finally, measure the width of the stair tread, which is 29 inches.
