Ice Maker for Clear Spheres

Finally, an easy method for making clear ice balls! Cloudy ice is caused by ice freezing from the outside-in causing air to be trapped within the ice. The Clearsphere system uses a directional freezing method to control the direction that water freezes, pushing all the air out of the ice ball. - Makes two (2) 2.5 inch ice spheres - Molds are BPA free and dishwasher safe - Stackable - 5 piece system Includes silicone ice ball mold, insulated freezing chamber, and integrated ice ball storage box.

Directions:
1) Place plastic tub into foam box, fill with warm water to the inner fill line.
2) Combine two silicone molds and slowly push completely down and water overlows.
3) Place upright in freezer for 24-30 hours.
4) Remove from freezer and let it rest for 5 minutes. Peel out mold by pulling on both of handles on one of the ends. Repeat on other side.
5) Separate the silicone molds - serve or store for later.

Mixing Glass "The Flagship" - BIC Originals

Martinis, Negronis and Old Fashioneds have met their match with our Mixing Glass.

Whether you’re taking on the high volume of a busy restaurant, or entertaining guests on your kitchen counter, our mixing glass can handle the job!

This glass was built with beauty and functionality in mind. Thanks to the glass we use and how we treat that glass (a long and slow annealing process), it’s one of the most durable glasses on the market. It can handle a physical beating, as well as drastic temperature changes, without missing a beat. This is probably the most DISHWASHER SAFE mixing glass on the market.

Plus, like any quality mixing vessel, it's seamless, so you can stir your drink without getting caught on the inside. Or even worse, it won't pop in half during your cocktail party or mid-service behind the bar.

Liquid capacity is 21 oz / 620ml (with some slight variation). Works with a standard julep strainer or a Hawthorne strainer (we personally recommend our Bull in China Hawthorne Strainer, but we’re a little biased).

Bell Jiggers

If you’re only going to own one jigger, this bell jigger gets our vote. The ergonomic design makes it easy to use for as long as you’d like. Thanks to its internal markings, you can easily measure anything from .25 oz to a full 2 oz. We believe it’s the most versatile jigger to have behind the bar or at home.

While our silver version is perfectly dishwasher safe, we recommend handwashing any of the other finishes to prolong the life of those coatings.

100% Brass and 100% Copper versions should be treated with a little extra care to prolong their lives. Stirring Wand, Double Ended

AKA “Tasha’s Teardrop” or the Double-Ended Teardrop Barspoon.

At first glance, this variation of the teardrop bar spoon seems like a factory error. I mean, isn’t it missing a spoon on one side?

Local Portland bartender Natasha Mesa was the first one to bring this style to our attention. While participating in a cocktail competition in Germany, she stumbled across one. It quickly went from satisfying her curiosity to becoming her favorite spoon in her arsenal. Once Tasha came back stateside, she asked us if we could produce these. Well, when Tasha asks, we listen. And, Voilá! Tasha’s Teardrop is now here.

Just try and stir your next drink with one of these, and you’ll see why we’re such fans. You get all the benefits of the counterweighting from the teardrops, with none of the worry from catching an ice cube with the spoon side and accidentally flinging it out of the glass (it happens to the best of us). This spoon just about stirs itself!

12in/30cm length

Comes in 6 finishes: Silver, Copper, Gold, Gunmetal Black, Rainbow Chrome, and Antique Brass

While our silver version is perfectly dishwasher safe, we recommend handwashing any of the other finishes to prolong the life of those coatings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need all the specialized "Bull in China" tools like clear ice spheres and a specific stirring wand to make a good martini?
While specialized tools like clear ice spheres and high-quality stirring wands can enhance the experience and final product, you can certainly start with basic bar tools. A standard ice tray, a measuring jigger, a long spoon, and any appropriate mixing and martini glass will allow you to make a delicious classic martini. As you get more into mixology, you can upgrade your equipment to the recommended ones.
The recipe specifies gin; can I use vodka instead for a "Vodka Martini"?
A true "Classic Martini" traditionally uses gin, which imparts a distinct botanical and juniper flavor profile. While you can substitute vodka to make a "Vodka Martini," it will result in a different taste that is cleaner and less aromatic. For a classic experience as a beginner, it's recommended to follow the gin recipe first.
Why is stirring emphasized for a martini, and how long should I really stir the drink?
Stirring a martini, rather than shaking, is crucial for achieving a smooth, silky texture and proper dilution without introducing air bubbles that can "bruise" the gin. Stir the mixture with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds, or until the mixing glass is thoroughly chilled to the touch. This ensures optimal chill and slight dilution without over-watering.
How important is chilling the martini glass beforehand, and can I skip this step?
Chilling your martini glass is a vital step you should not skip, as it prevents your freshly made cocktail from warming up too quickly. A warm glass will immediately reduce the temperature of your drink, diminishing the crisp, cold experience a martini is known for. Simply fill the glass with ice and water while you mix, then discard before straining.
My martini sometimes tastes too warm or too diluted. What common mistakes should I look out for?
Common issues stem from insufficient chilling or incorrect dilution. Ensure your mixing glass and martini glass are well-chilled, and use plenty of fresh, high-quality ice, ideally large cubes or spheres that melt slower. Stir purposefully for about 30 seconds to achieve the right balance of chill and minimal dilution, avoiding over-stirring.
Besides an olive, are there other classic garnishes for a martini, and do they change the flavor?
While a green olive is an iconic garnish, a lemon twist is also a classic and popular alternative. Expressing the oils from a lemon peel over the drink adds bright, citrusy aromatics and a subtle hint of lemon, enhancing a different facet of the martini's flavor profile. Choose based on whether you prefer savory or citrus notes.
